"Extreme Close Encounters"  Combatives for CCW

Picture
When it comes to personal security, private citizens often have the odds stacked against them.  Unlike law enforcement and military personnel who usually receive an order or call when they are about to enter into a dangerous situation, private citizens are forced into fights that happen unexpectedly, at close range, by multiple assailants and in low available light.  Criminal predators attack when conditions are favorable only to them.  Due to these circumstances, it is often difficult for the legally armed citizen to be able to quickly and effectively defend themselves.

Most handgun training is based on outdated models of attack that hold the presumption that you will see your attack coming in time to draw your firearm and use it to end the fight.  If attacked at close range, will you somehow be able to create enough distance to draw your firearm?  In fact, you might not be able to create much, if any distance and the fight could continue while still in a clinch, on the ground with your opponent.

In addition, not all fights or encounters with people who are exhibiting threatening, antisocial behavior require the use of a firearm.  Only you will know when you fear grave bodily injury or death.  But if the only self defense training skills you have were developed on the target range or in your CCW class you may be ill equipped to deal with a nasty, personal attack that occurs at arms length.  Since 50% of gun fights occur at arms length you need to integrate fighting skills with your shooting skills.

“Extreme Close Encounters” for Concealed Carry is a one day course that will demonstrate how to integrate unarmed combative techniques with Concealed Carry.  Many practical topics will be discussed and practiced on the range.  Those include:  In fight weapons access and drawing techniques, retention shooting positions, shooting stances for close quarters fighting, one-handed malfunction drills, using a handgun as a impact weapon, drawing and shooting from unconventional positions, unarmed combative fighting skills, stopping an opponent’s draw, gun retention and gun disarm techniques and much, much more…

We require that you be able to demonstrate proper gun safety and competent gun handling skills.  You should have at least attended a firearms safety program and preferably additional self defense training courses.

Items need for this course:
- Handgun(s)
- Quality holster IWB or OWB with belt loops that match your gun belt in width
- 2-3 Magazines
- Belt mounted magazine pouch
